Saudi Arabia has called for reforming the mechanisms of joint Arab action to achieve an effective Arab League. This was stated by Saudi foreign minister Ibrahim al-Assaf during Arab foreign ministers' preparatory meeting for 30th Arab Summit being held in Tunis on Sunday.

Saudi Arabian new Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Assaf has categorically denied that the kingdom is in crisis. In his first interview, he said basic reason of cabinet reshuffling is to make government machinery more efficient. 

As part of a major cabinet reshuffle, Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz has appointed Ibrahim al-Assaf a new foreign minister. The king also appointed Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz as chief of the National Guard, while Musaed al-Aiban appointed national security adviser.
